September 26 is Johnny Appleseed Day. John Chapman, known as Johnny Appleseed, was born on this day in 1774. During his lifetime, he traveled throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois planting apple trees and preaching.
