Leu Gardens: A Hidden Gem

It seems as though the Leu Gardens in Orlando are not very familiar to most people. That’s too bad. A recent visit there was a real eye-opener. This 50-acre estate on the shores of Lake Rowena was donated to the City of Orlando in 1961 by Mary Jane and Harry Leu. The city has done a wonderful job maintaining this botanical garden that is easily explored on walkways throughout the various gardens. There are rest areas, rain shelters and restrooms along the way. There is no food service available, but we did see a few visitors who had packed a lunch. Admission is only $7 for adults, $2 for children in grades K-12, and free for children 4 years of age and younger.  http://www.leugardens.org/index.htm
