Victory Ship Museum in Tampa

During World War II, the production of cargo ships called Victory ships was undertaken to replace shipping losses due to German submarine attacks. 531 Victory ships were built, contributing significantly to the war effort. Today, three remain as museums including SS American Victory in Tampa. The museum is open Sunday and Monday noon to 5pm and Tuesday through Saturday 10am to 5pm. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for 65 and older, $8 for veterans, $5 for children 4-12, and free for children 3 and under. http://www.americanvictory.org/
