Just thinking about this subject makes my mouth water. In addition to the many great BBQ restaurants in our area, there are four BBQ Festivals in the next three months.
“The Lakeland PigFest” is 6-10pm on Friday, January 25 and 10am-5pm on Saturday, January 26 at the Tiger Town Sports Complex. Admission is only $1 per person and “Pig Bucks” may be bought to purchase refreshments. (http://www.visitcentralflorida.org/events/lakeland-pigfest)
“Smoke in the Water BBQ Competition” is on Saturday, February 2, from 10am-5:30 in Winter Haven. Admission is $1 and includes live entertainment and water ski shows on Lake Cannon. http://www.visitcentralflorida.org/events/smoke-on-the-water-bbq-competition
“Ribs on the Ridge” is set for Lake Eva Park in Haines City on Friday, February 22, from 5-9pm and Saturday, February 23, from 10am-5pm. Admission is free with lots of entertainment and craft and food vendors. http://www.visitcentralflorida.org/events/ribs-on-the-ridge
