Seaworld Presents Viva La Musica

“Viva La Musica,” the annual Hispanic festival at Seaworld Orlando, is presented Saturdays from April 13 to May 4. The family event features Latin musical artists and Latin cuisine. The event area opens at noon and concerts begin at 3pm with Daddy Yankee on April 13, Willie Colon on April 20, Grupomania on April 27, and El Gran Combo on May 4.

2013 – A Big Year for Theme Parks

Central Florida theme parks are planning a big 2013. Major additions, exhibits and rides are about to make their debut. SeaWorld Orlando’s new ride “Antarctica – Empire of the Penguin” is planned for a spring opening. “Transformers: The Ride – 3D” is expected this summer at Universal Studios and the Atlantis Exhibit at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex will open in July. Fun Spot USA will have three new thrill rides this summer – White Lightening and Freedom Fighter roller coasters and Skycoaster, a 250-foot harnessed swing. Princess Fairytale Hall – a meet-and-greet center – in Disney’s Magic Kingdom is planned for this year with no date announced as yet.

Franklin and Friends are Joining SeaWorld

The popular children’s television series, “Franklin and Friends,” featuring Franklin the turtle, will join SeaWorld Orlando in January with appearances by Franklin characters, TV specials, books, and merchandise. The schedule of entertainment for Bands, Brew & BBQ at SeaWorld Orlando has been announced. The event is included in the park admission and runs Saturdays and Sundays beginning February 9 through March 17, 2013. So far, Chris Young with Jerrod Niemann, Merle Haggard, The Beach Boys, Styx, Big & Rich, Third Eye Blind, Daryl Hall and John Oats, and Josh Turner have been booked. Just for Kids at SeaWorld Orlando

Just for Kids, concerts aimed at youngsters, is returning to SeaWorld Orlando in January beginning on the 12th with a performance by Imagination Movers. Laurie Berkner performs on January 19 followed by Choo-Choo Soul with Genevieve on the 26 and Kratt Brothers Live on February 2. Performances each Saturday are at 11am, 2pm and 4pm in the Nautilus Theater. Concerts are included in the park admission. Christmas Season Starts Early at Attractions

Yes, I realize we haven’t celebrated Halloween yet. But the theme parks are already thinking Christmas. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the wonderful Osborn Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights begins on November 9. Also on the 9th, Mickey’s Jingle Jungle Parade at Animal Kingdom begins its annual run along with the first day of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom.

ICE!, the ice sculpture exhibit opens at the Gaylord Palms on November 10 with the theme Merry Madagascar.

Seaworld Christmas Celebration begins November 17. Activities include an ice-skating show, a killer whale show - ”Clyde and Seamore’s Countdown to Christmas,” a Muppet stage show, and “O Wondrous Night,” a show based on the Christmas story.

Epcot’s Candlelight Processional begins on November 23 and the first guest narrator will be Geena Davis.
