Broadway is Coming to Orlando

The 25th anniversary season of Broadway Across America will open in Orlando with “Mamma Mia!” on October 3-9 at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Center. This will be followed by “The Book of Mormon” October 29-November 10, “Flashdance” December 3-8, “Once” January 28-February 2, “War Horse” February 25-March 2, “Evita” March 25-30, “Jersey Boys April 15-27, and “Ghost the Musical” May 13-18.

Funshine Music Festival at Florida State Fairgrounds

The three-day music extravaganza featuring more than 30 artists on six stages will be held at the Florida State Fairgrounds May 3-5. Headliners include Cheap Trick, Ted Nugent, Train, Smashing Pumpkins, the Wallflowers, REO Speedwagon, Dashboard Confessional’s Chris Carrabba, Styx, New Found Glory, We the Kings and Kix Brooks. The event also includes 60 rides and attractions as well as a variety of food and beverage offerings.

Waves of Glory at Wet ‘n Wild

The Grammy-nominated band, Sanctus Real, will perform at this year’s all-day Waves of Glory concert at Orlando’s Wet ‘n Wild on April 27 following a battle of the bands event featuring up and coming Christian music performers. The music starts at 10am with 12 bands entered and concludes with the 5pm concert by Sanctus Real.

Spring Concert at Osceola Center for the Arts

The Center Singers at the Osceola Center for the Arts will present a Spring Concert on Sunday, April 21, at 2pm. The program will offer an afternoon of great singing and “feel good” music including “Dancing Queen,” “Rock With Me,” “Knock Three Times,” “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” and lots more. Orlando’s 2013-14 Broadway Series Announced

The 25th Broadway Series at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre will open October 29 with The Book of Mormon. The five other shows in the series are Flashdance the Musical, Once, War Horse, Evita, and Ghost the Musical. Two non-series shows are Mama Mia! October 3-9 and Jersey Boys April 15-47, 1014.

Russian National Ballet Presents Sleeping Beauty

Sleeping Beauty, the timeless story of Princess Aurora and a rescuing prince, will be brought to the Lakeland Center Youkey Theatre by the Russian National Ballet Theatre on Tuesday, February 28 at 8pm. This ballet company was formed in Moscow in the late 1980s to continue the timeless tradition of classical Russian ballet.
